On December 24, 2025, the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau released the "Public Notice of the Proposed List for the 2025 Tianjin Science and Technology Awards." The project "R&D and Application of Key Digital-Intelligent Technologies for High-Strength and Toughness Aluminum Alloy Heavy-Duty Wheels," led by Tianjin Lizhong Light Alloy Forging Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Tianli Light"), a subsidiary of Lizhong Group, was awarded the Second Prize of the 2025 Tianjin Science and Technology Awards.
The project focuses on the urgent demand for high-performance aluminum alloy wheels in new energy vehicles, conducting systematic research on key technical challenges such as material strength-toughness matching, forming process optimization, and intelligent manufacturing integration. Innovatively, the project established an integrated R&D system of "Material—Process—Equipment—Control," breaking through bottlenecks in forming precision, microstructure uniformity, and fatigue life for high-strength and tough aluminum alloy wheels. This achieved a transformation and upgrade from traditional manufacturing to "digital-intelligent" production. By introducing intelligent sensing, digital twin, and AI-assisted decision-making technologies, the project significantly improved production efficiency, quality stability, and service reliability. The products have been successfully applied by several major domestic commercial vehicle enterprises with positive market feedback.
