Core Technology Rated as "International Leading," Lizhong Group Empowers New Energy Vehicle Industry Upgrade

On December 14, 2025, the appraisal meeting for the scientific and technological achievement project titled "Key Technologies and Industrialization of High-Performance Intelligent Manufacturing for Core Components of New Energy Vehicles," organized by the China Association for International Science and Technology Promotion, was successfully held. The appraisal committee was chaired by Academician Guo Konghui from Jilin University, with Professor Lu Wenlong from Huazhong University of Science and Technology serving as deputy director. Committee members included Professor Zhu Lida from Northeastern University, Professor Li Tiezhu from Southeast University, and Associate Professor Wu Xiaoqiang from Inner Mongolia Minzu University.

As a core participating unit, Baoding Lizhong Wheel Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Lizhong Group, jointly conducted research with 13 other entities, including Qingdao University of Technology, Central South University, Qingdao Hailian Jinhui Auto Parts Co., Ltd., and Chongqing Meilixin Technology Co., Ltd. Zang Yongxing, Chairman of Lizhong Group, also participated as a key contributor (ranked fourth). Ultimately, the project received high praise, described as having "high technical difficulty and strong innovation, reaching an internationally advanced level overall." Notably, the key technology for the integrated assembly of automobile floor panels and the key technology for shape-property synergistic vertical bilateral pouring spinning of wheels were rated as "internationally leading." This fully demonstrates Lizhong Group's technical strength and innovation capability in the field of aluminum alloy wheel manufacturing.

The project aims to address technical bottlenecks such as the foreign monopoly on semi-solid intelligent die-casting equipment, the lack of production lines for integrated connection of large aspect ratio components, and the significant gap between domestic and foreign technologies in high-performance and intelligent manufacturing of aluminum alloy wheels. It seeks to bridge the gap between China's full-chain automotive lightweight technology and advanced international standards, achieving three major technological innovations:

Breaking Monopolies with Smart Control: It broke through intelligent die-casting equipment and full-process quality control technologies for high-performance new energy vehicle components. By developing a die-casting information perception and online parameter regulation system, it achieved precise control over manufacturing quality through the coordinated regulation of over 50 key parameters, effectively breaking foreign equipment monopolies.

Integrated Connection for Complex Structures: It conquered the integrated connection technology for automobile floor panels with large aspect ratios (>12:1). By breaking through mold optimization strategies for the adaptability of weakly rigid structural parts in die-casting and connection, it proposed methods for process optimization and performance enhancement in thin-wall/dissimilar material integrated connections. Additionally, it developed a multi-station intelligent production line to improve positioning accuracy and the torsional rigidity of automobile floor panels.

Innovative Wheel Spinning Method: It invented a new method of low-pressure vertical bilateral pouring spinning for aluminum alloy wheels. It broke through shape-property synergistic oriented optimization technology for intelligent temperature-controlled die-casting molds and constructed a clean cutting adaptive process strategy and intelligent inspection line. This improved the tensile strength and elongation of the wheels while reducing the scrap rate caused by slag inclusion.

During the R&D process, Baoding Lizhong Wheel Manufacturing Co., Ltd., leveraging its profound technical accumulation and innovative breakthroughs in the intelligent manufacturing of aluminum alloy wheels, fully utilized its advantages in industrial chain collaboration and large-scale production. The company pioneered the low-pressure vertical bilateral pouring spinning process. Combined with the optimized design and dynamic regulation of the intelligent temperature-controlled mold system, it achieved full-process adaptive process integration and production line consolidation, from casting and clean cutting to intelligent inspection. This not only improved the internal quality and appearance consistency of aluminum alloy wheels but also enhanced manufacturing efficiency and resource utilization, yielding significant economic and social benefits.

This major scientific and technological achievement marks another milestone in Lizhong Group's commitment to technological innovation and deepened industry-university-research cooperation. It is a vivid practice of the Group implementing the national "Dual Carbon" goals and aiding the digital transformation of manufacturing, injecting strong momentum into the development of China's new energy vehicle components sector.
